Crowned in 1440, Moctezuma I led the Aztec Empire to its peak. During his reign, he shaped the image we know today, that of an empire of extreme cultural and mythological richness. Its capital, Tenochtitlan, the current Mexico City, became flourishing. Adorned with champagne -colored attributes, the Montblanc writing instrument for homage to Moctezuma I Limited Edition 4810 is dedicated to this great sovereign who reigned over one of the most extraordinary civilizations in history. The whole of its design evokes the ATLATL used by the Aztecs to propel their spears over a long distance.

The shape of the cone, to the hammered finish of a great refinement, echoes a knife of Aztec sacrifice with an obsidian blade. The lacquer takes up the colors of the royal coat, oil blue and carmine red. The cap sports two hieroglyphs symbolizing the reign period of Moctezuma ier. The 18 k gold -made gold feather is decorated with a thin engraving inspired by the Aztec glyph of the Cité de Tenochtitlan: a three -pointed cactus completed by a royal tiara and two parchments.
