During history, great artists have told human experience in a universal language of form and beauty. The Montblanc Masters of Art collection celebrates their eternal contribution to the quest for perfection in art, a quest in which Montblanc pays homage and participates. An artist, thanks to his vision, participated in the emergence of Viennese Art Nouveau and the Golden Age: Gustav Klimt. The Masters of Art Tribute to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 161 in Montblanc puts in the spotlight his famous work Le Kisse and is dedicated to his passion for the art and culture of Japan. Gustav Klimt was animated by experimentation thanks to new and unusual forms of expression. In this perspective, he developed a fusion between realistic representation, decoration and abstract until the presentation in 1909 of his famous, even mythical canvas, kiss. This painting reveals the passion of Gustav Klimt for the art of East Asia, which also replaces the perspective with decorative elements, color and harmonious curves. The decorative elements of the kiss inspired the engravings of the rose gold cone in the 750/1000 of the tribute to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 161 and find themselves on the hood in solid silver 925. The two lovers absorbed by a kiss, the central motif of the Klimt canvas, were carefully engraved on the cap. Klimt’s interest in Japanese lacquering techniques has influenced his work. He admired the decorative works decorated with gold from the Rinpa school, made a collection of Ukiyo-e wood engravings, Japanese ceramics and Noh masks and integrated their techniques into his personal style. A halo infused with gold like the one who envelops lovers in the kiss also surrounds the barrel of the writing instrument. For many works, Gustav Klimt mixed his painting with gold leaves, polished stones and mother -of -pearl. To kiss it, it mixed gold leaves and oil gilding, and even used platinum for certain parts. On the Limited Edition 161, the interaction of 925 massive silver and gold in the 750/1000 is enhanced by a Cabochon in Green Aventurine on the cone, a color that evokes spring, the renewal season. The slightly curved lines of the clip, ended by three spirals, evoke the decoration of the wreck metal frame of the Athena table of Klimt. The spiral ornament, a typical pattern of jewelry in Mycenaean gold, echoes the Greek origins of Athena. At the top of the hood, set in a rose gold mount at the 750/1000, the Montblanc En Nacre emblem recalls the project of the three founders of Montblanc, whose ambitious objectives, just like those of Klimt, made them aim as high as The glaciers that culminate at the top of Mont Blanc. The 750/1000 gold feather made by hand made from the tribute to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 161 is decorated with an artistic decoration made of curved curves and spirals from the typical geometric language used by Gustav Klimt in many of his works. A particularly sumptuous example is found in the tree of life, forming the Stoclet frieze and ended in 1909. Enlightened in the motif on the pen, is the PHI sign, representing the irrational number 1.61 and its infinite decimal numbers. It designates the proportions of the golden number, which has influenced the conception of many masterpieces in the world and presents itself in many forms in nature. The engraving on the pen pen and the editing limited to exactly 161 pieces pay homage to this ideal measure, embodying harmony and aesthetics. The gap between the cap and the barrel is also inspired by the golden number.
