Ludovico Sforza, born in 1452, is the fourth son of Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan. Crowned in his turn Duke of Milan in 1494, Ludovico brought financial support to the humanist branch of the University of Milan. It was he also who enlarged and embellished the Renaissance-style fortress Castello Sforzesco.

The design of the cap top and cone of the Ludovico Sforza Limited Edition of 888 pieces reflects the pronounced architecture of the Castello Sforzesco. The ornaments of the fresco painted by da Vinci embellish the translucent blue lacquer of this edition. The engraving of the cap ring recalls the “testone”, one of the Italian Renaissance silver coins, minted in honor of Ludovico Sforza. The attributes in solid 18 K gold bring the final touch to this exceptional edition in homage to Ludovico Sforza. The coat of arms of the Duke of Milan serves as the inspiration for the engravings of the 18K solid gold nib.
