During history, great artists have told human experience in a universal language of form and beauty. The Montblanc Masters of Art collection celebrates their eternal contribution to the quest for perfection in art, a quest in which Montblanc pays homage and participates. An artist, thanks to his vision, participated in the emergence of Viennese Art Nouveau and the Golden Age: Gustav Klimt. The Masters of Art Tribute to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 4810 in Montblanc celebrates its artistic beginnings in the Viennese secession and takes up in its design striking elements of its works Pallas Athena and the kiss. In his rejection of stereotypes in art and society, Gustav Klimt was a pioneer at the forefront. He mixed the realistic representation, the decoration and the abstract in a style which reaches its peak in its large format paintings, from the portraits of women to subtle sensuality. One of his first paintings where the decorations only equaled the model for the painting was a portrait made in 1902 of his partner and Muse Emilie Flöge, represented in a dreamlike blue hue, almost mystical. This work inspired the shade of blue from the masters of art tribute to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 4810 de Montblanc. Circles, waves, triangles and lines that sparkle through the dark blue translucent lacquer of the writing instrument are inspired by its famous painting the kiss, in which two lovers seem to merge into geometric ornamental shapes thanks to the power of 'emotion. Composed of transparent blue lacquer and hammered metal coated with yellow gold, the cap and the barrel of the writing instrument take advantage of the use of complementary colors, nod to the famous works of the "gold cycle From Gustav Klimt, like Adele Bloch-Bauer I, the Stoclet frieze and the kiss. Klimt used a new technique to enrich its colors with individual pieces of gold leaf, creating the illusion of precious stones set in gold. For the Limited Edition 4810, the hammered cone coated with yellow gold is encrusted with a green synthetic spinelle, a color that evokes spring, the renewal season. The Klimt secessionist monogram, its GK initials in golden stamp printing, echoes its achievements for Viennese secession. The clip of the tribute to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 4810 is specially created in reference to the Pallas Athena of Gustav Klimt. Athena being the goddess of both war and the arts, she is represented launching the struggle for artistic freedom. The slightly curved lines ended by three spirals of the yellow gold staple evoke the decoration of the forged metal frame. The pen made by hand in yellow gold at the 750/1000 presents a finely engraved owl, symbol of knowledge, wisdom and ideas and considered as the faithful companion of the Greek goddess Athena. The engraving is both a reference to the Pallas Athena painting by Gustav Klimt and the secession building, the side facades of which are decorated with owl sculptures.
