The design of the MontBlanc 105591 Limited Edition fountain pen by Mahatma Gandhi was inspired by the symbol of Indian independence as well as Gandhi's symbol of action: the cotton spinner.
The surface design is reminiscent of the fine texture of cotton. The intricately patterned cap and cone are made of 925 sterling silver symbolizing the wire, the orange garnet on the clip symbolizes the orange color of the Indian flag and reflects the high symbolic value of the spinning wheel. The rhodium-plated Au 750 gold alloy is adorned with a delicate engraving on Gandhi's path to independence.
