Scipione Borghese (September 1, 1577 - October 2, 1633) was an Italian cardinal, art collector and patron of the arts. A member of the Borghese family, he was the patron of the painter Caravaggio and the artist Bernini. His legacy is the creation of the Villa Borghese Art Collection in Rome, which serves as a monument to Roman interior design in its most extravagant and beautiful collections of Baroque sculpture in the world.
