Cheroity maintenance

Montblanc Monaco offers a multitude of maintenance services for your traditional Montblanc watches. We are also at your disposal in cases where your Montblanc watch would be damaged, broken or stopped working.

Bracelet service

A stainless steel bracelet will last longer if it is perfectly adjusted to your wrist. The bracelet of your watch is subjected to wear and must therefore be the subject of maintenance operations. Even by following the serving the maintenance tips provided in our service guide, some pieces of your bracelet can wear over time (clasp, links, ardillon, etc.).

This service includes the following operations:

Disassembly of the bracelet

Replacement of defective parts or accessories

Adding or removing links (fitting the size)

Cleaning the bracelet in an ultrasound bath to eliminate dust and dirt between links

Final control (aesthetic)

This service does not include:

Additional pieces such as links or clasps. These pieces are invoiced separately.

Polishing. This is an additional service. There is no cleaning or maintenance service of leather bracelets. If your bracelet is worn, we invite you to go to one of our Montblanc shops to discover our wide selection of bracelets.

Stack service

Montblanc strongly advises to regularly change the stack of your watch. A battery in poor condition can delay your watch or damage the movement in the event of a leak. We advise you to never use a used battery and bring your watch in a Montblanc shop or from an authorized Montblanc dealer to be sure that it will be manipulated by a qualified technician. During the stack service, the bottom of the watch is disassembled. The battery as well as the bottom seal are replaced. The screws are replaced only if necessary.

Montblanc advises to be limited to changing the battery and the bottom seal. It is rather advised to jointly request a maintenance service to reduce the risk of water infiltration posed by worn joints, as water may damage movement and internal components (needles, dial, etc.. )

In this eventuality, a comprehensive service would become necessary, which would prove much more expensive than the recommended maintenance service.

The complete service includes:

Disassembly of accessories

Replacement of Battery and Back Gasket

Replacement of the battery and the bottom seal

Performance Test

Function test

Closing the watch box

Water sealing test

Final control (aesthetic)

Mechanical movements are composed of hundreds of parts that are assembled with infinite precision and care. To reduce friction, spare parts are lubricated with oils and grease. Over time, oils can thicken and greases can dry, affecting the performance of the movement of the watch. If you have not done your watch for five years or you have not worn for a long time, it is recommended to complete the full service.

This service includes the operations below:

Complete dismantling of the watch

Control of all elements

Complete revision of the movement

Cleaning the case or housing and bracelet in an ultrasound bath

Replacement of all joints

Performance control (accuracy, amplitude)

Function test

Closing the watch box

Water sealing test

Final control (aesthetic)

This service does not include:

Polishing. This is an additional service.

Replacing additional parts, such as dial, telescope, crown or needles, which is charged separately.

Polishing

Even if you take good care of your watch, scratches or spots may appear on the housing or bracelet. Montblanc recommends that you polish your watch from time to time so that it finds its brilliance and original shine. For this, the watch must be fully dismantled, separating the bracelet from the watch to polish each element individually. It is not possible to polish the glass according to this process as it would eliminate the anti-reflections protection. In addition, engraved or satin surfaces would be damaged by the brush.

Your watch can not be polished more than seven times. Some scratches can be too deep to be eliminated. It is not possible to polish the parts that have undergone special treatment (PVD, ADLC, etc.) or certain materials (ceramic, brass, tantalus, etc.).

Please note that polishing is not an independent service, but an additional option proposed only as part of a maintenance service or complete service to ensure the tightness of the watch.

This service includes the operations below:

1. Complete disassembly of the watch

2. Polishing using different brushes and polishing pasta:

- Application of an abrasive paste with a hard brush to eliminate surface stripes

- application of a hard paste with a brush to smooth the upper surface

- application of a fine paste with a flexible brush to restore the brilliance and shine of the room

3. Ultrasonic bath cleaning

4. Closing the watch box

5. Final control (aesthetic)
