James Byron Dean (1931 - 1955) was an American actor and cultural icon of disenchanted youth and social exclusion, as expressed by the title of his most famous film, "The Fury of Living" (1955) , in which he played Jim Stark, a fragile teenager. The general shape of this writing instrument is inspired by the switchblade knife used by James Dean in "The Fury of Living".

The fine wood cap echoes the same scene. The solid 925 silver body is adorned with a motif reminiscent of the engine engraving of his favorite sports car as well as one of James Dean's most famous quotes: "Dream as if you'll live forever." Live as if you'll die today. This edition is limited to 1931 pieces in reference to his year of birth.
